Awards

The prestigious Apprentice of the Year Award for Bridgwater College went to Tim Harrison, an advanced Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice. This award was sponsored and presented by Ian Scott, Supply Director of Mulberry Company (Designs) Ltd, who in his speech said:

...“This is a young person who, over the past three years has continuously developed his skills, knowledge and ability. From the early stages he was dedicated, committed and prided himself on good workmanship. His attitude is very infectious. He is a very personable person who gets on with everyone. So much so that other students would turn to him for advice and guidance. He was relied upon very much within his workplace and towards the end of his second year he was being given jobs to perform by himself. Not one to turn an opportunity down he built on this and began to take on private work with a view of developing his own business. He is now at the stage where he has not only made a positive impact due to his workmanship and attitude he has built up a sound business to start up on his own with a view on taking on an apprentice on the future.”...
Tim is also a winner in the Regional Skillbuild competition for the South West in 2007.
